Petition to Parliament on overnight motorhome parking rejected

Wording of the petition: “Allow overnight parking to camper vans, motorhomes in no overnight parking areas”

“Lift restrictions to allow a limited number of parking spaces for overnight/domestic use to campervan, motorhome and vehicle dwellers in no overnight/domestic use parking locations around the UK. Increasing tourism and access for people to areas of interest.”

More details:

“The UK has a large base of people that enjoy travelling and visiting areas of interest, coastal and inland areas are increasingly becoming non accessible for people that enjoy being in nature. Height restrictions, width restrictions and signs stating no overnight parking, cooking or domestic activity in vehicles are destroying our access to the UK and reducing tourism. Its causing a “bunching” of such vehicles in areas that are still accessible compounding the problem more.”

The petition was rejected as outside required parameters.

Government responded saying: “It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

“We can’t accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren’t responsible for the issue you raise. This is a decision for landowners and local authorities.

“We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
