Covid-19 restrictions to be lifted in Northern Ireland

All Covid-19 restrictions in Northern Ireland will be lifted and replaced with guidance from Tuesday 15 February, the NI Health Minister Robin Swann has said.

Remaining restrictions included: requirements to wear face coverings in public places; business owners having measures in place to limit transmission of the virus; the use of Covid certificates at nightclubs and large unseated indoor events; and limits on numbers meeting indoors in private homes.

Mr Swann, in a statement on Monday 14 February said: “It moves our response against Covid into a new phase. With the reduced threat from the Omicron variant, we can move away from an emergency and legalistic framework to a new approach where making safer choices is embedded in our daily lives.”

The present Covid-19 regulations in Northern Ireland were not due to expire until 24 March.  For more detail, click here.
