First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced indicative dates for moving through the remainder of Phase 2 and early Phase 3, on the condition that health and safety criteria are met. The amended timeline, released on 24 June, is as follows:
- 29 June – indoor (non-office) workplaces including factories and warehouses, may reopen with relevant guidance implemented. This includes ‘street-access retail’, outdoor markets, and outdoor sports courts and playgrounds.
- 3 July – travel distance restriction is relaxed, permitting people to travel more than five miles from home. Visits to self-catering accommodations and second homes (with no shared facilities) including caravan parks are permitted.
- 6 July – outdoor hospitality may reopen, subject to physical distancing rules and public health advice.
- 15 July – all holiday accommodation, indoor hospitality, and tourist attractions including museums, galleries, and cinemas, may open in line with relevant guidance.
