Starting with some good news, the BBC announced a special Big Night In show, with Children in Need and Comic Relief. The special, which is set to air on 23 April from 7pm, will feature the likes of Peter Kay, Matt Baker, Zoe Ball, Lenny Henry and Gary Barlow.

The event sees BBC’s Children in Need and Comic Relief coming together for the first time, to lift up the nation’s spirits and raise money for charities helping society’s most vulnerable people.

Across the pond, a litany of musical legends have come together to collaborate on One World: Together at Home, a live streamed concert featuring Elton John, Chris Martin, John Legend, Idris Elba, Paul McCartnery, Stevie Wonder and more.

The special, which will be streamed live on every major platform on April 18th at 8pm Eastern Time, which is 1am UK time, however the BBC will be showing an edited version after the live show.

More news from China as Wuhan province – the epicentre of the outbreak – has now reopened transport links out of the city, after the country reported no corona-virus related deaths for the first time since it began publishing daily data in January.

There had been hopeful signs here in the UK as death rates reduced over a two day period, however Tuesday 7 April saw a spike in reported virus-related deaths. Green shoots continue to appear in Spain, as for the fourth consecutive day it too reported drops in deaths.
