The Camping and Caravanning Club has reached an all-time high of 350,000 household memberships for the first time in its 120-year history, as 2021’s peak camping season gets into full swing.

This number equates to 778,000 individual members of the Club. From June 2020 to June 2021, more than 45,000 new households joined the ranks, setting another record for annual membership increase, which exceeded the target the Club had set by a considerable margin.

The Club’s Director General Sabina Voysey said: “After a difficult 2020, I’m delighted the Club has enjoyed unprecedented growth this year. The staycation message in the media has hit home and as well as reaching our highest ever membership – a major milestone for us – bookings on our campsite network have broken records for June.”
