185k visitors to Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf

The 60th CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF, which was again held under special measures because of the COVID pandemic, attracted 185,000 visitors and was “a huge success”.

Messe Düsseldorf and the Caravaning Industrie Verband e. V. (CIVD) reported that 653 exhibitors from 31 countries filled the 13 exhibition halls, plus the outdoor space.  During the event, top-class business deals and outstanding contacts were made with caravanning fans and trade visitors.

Erhard Wienkamp, Managing Director Operative Trade Fair Business at Messe Düsseldorf, said: “Attendance of 185,000 people has clearly exceeded our expectations … We are also very happy to note that visitors again endorsed our proven Hygiene Concept.”

The organisers said that once again the percentage of first-time visitors registered was very high at 41%. “Caravanning is the No. 1 form of holiday trending in 2021 and beyond. Individual, self-sufficient and flexible travelling has been very much ‘en vogue’ not least since the COVID pandemic if not before. This means many exhibitors are returning home with order books filled across all product categories and vehicle classes.”

Exhibitors reported very good sales.
